AEW Dynamite (and Collision!) airs tonight (May 27) with a live show three hour special from The Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This is the first episode of Dynamite during the five week build to Forbidden Door, which takes place on June 28.

MJF is once again the AEW world champion after defeating Darby Allin with a side headlock takeover at Double or Nothing. Big Hebrew has his official celebration scheduled on tonight’s Dynamite, where he will surely brag about being the greatest world champion in the history of pro wrestling. The history-making part where MJF is already a three-time world champion at age 30 will likely get a big spotlight in his promo tonight. The new champ will relentlessly insult the AEW locker room and fans, at least until someone interrupts him to set up a title match at Forbidden Door. It could be a top star from NJPW, considering that the Forbidden Door PPV is primarily about crossover matches between AEW and NJPW wrestlers. RUSH was also expecting to get world title match from Darby, but I’m guessing Max won’t agree that El Toro Blanco deserves a titles match after just beating some jobbers. Okada was supposed to challenge Darby for the gold earlier this month, while Mox may be itching to get back in the world title mix after finally beating Kyle O’Reilly. Willow’s absence means there is a mystery Wild Card wrestler who will take her place in the Owen Hart Tournament. The tournament already had other question marks as a result of Tony Khan booking injured stars (Sareee and CMLL World Women’s Champion Persephone) in the 8-woman field. AEW Women’s World Champion Thekla says she is surrounded by dumb bitches in AEW. After their partnership fell apart at Double or Nothing, Kris Statlander vs. Hikaru Shida is booked tonight in a Lights Out Philly Street Fight. This type of hardcore gimmick match is usually reserved for the final segment of the event, but considering that AEW does this silly thing where tonight is actually an episode of Dynamite followed by an episode of Collision.
