Darby Allin has turned out to be a fantastic AEW world champion. The most important night of his title reign takes place on Sunday at Double or Nothing, where he has a chance to make MJF go bald. After barely surviving his latest world title defense against Sammy Guevara over the weekend, Allin should be resting his body right now in order to be in his best shape for the PPV main event. Instead, he’s right back in the ring tonight with the world title on the line against “Speedball” Mike Bailey. This is what Darby wants, but it’s his dumbest mistake as world champion since it will make his body even weaker heading into Double or Nothing. It’s almost like serving up the belt to MJF on a silver platter. Keep in mind that Darby’s body is so worn down and damaged that he briefly passed out while applying a Scorpion Death Lock on Guevara.

Speedball is a better wrestler than Sammy, which puts Darby’s title reign in serious jeopardy with Double or Nothing just a few days away. Has AEW President Tony Khan considered that his very important PPV main event might get flushed down the toilet if Darby loses the gold tonight? Looking outside of kayfabe, this is exactly why Darby’s title reign is actually not in the slightest bit of danger of ending tonight. AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley vs. Kyle O’Reilly is scheduled for tonight in a title eliminator match. That is AEW’s way of trying to make a non-title match sound important. And hey, this one actually is important because Moxley doesn’t currently have a match at Double or Nothing.
