Sami Zayn’s underdog chase of the world championship on Raw didn’t pan out this year, and now he’s an official member of the SmackDown roster. After the roster move, Sami immediately switched gears and is now completely focused on wining Solo Sikoa’s United States championship. Solo has an entire gang of MFTs watching his back to ensure Sami can’t take his belt away, while Zayn might only have Jimmy Uso in his corner. That’s probably why Solo laughed off the idea of Sami beating him for the gold last week on SmackDown when they confronted each other backstage. But Sami wasn’t the least bit intimidated and responded with the following message for Sikoa: “You’re not dealing with underdog Sami Zayn. You’re dealing with WrestleMania main eventer Sami Zayn.” Solo stood up a little taller upon hearing those words, as he knew there was something different in Zayn’s tone of voice and confidence in being the favorite this time.

The WWE women’s tag team championship is also on the line tonight on SmackDown. After Piper Niven’s upset victory over Charlotte Flair last week, the Allies of Convenience will defend the gold against The Secret Hervice. Street Profits vs. Melo Don’t Miz is also scheduled for SmackDown. This is a number one contender’s match for the WWE tag team championship, so the Wyatt Sicks will probably be lurking nearby and watching the action. GM Nick Aldis heard from Brock Lesnar at the end of last week’s episode and was about to tell John Cena all about it, but YouTube douchebag parasite outsider Logan Paul knocked out Cena before that could happen.
