SmackDown airs tonight (May 23) with a live show emanating from EnMarket Arena in Savannah, Georgia. This is the second episode of SmackDown during the four week build towards Money in the Bank, which takes place on June 7.

Cody Rhodes has been missing from WWE programming ever since he was a giant dumbass and lost the WWE championship to John Cena at WrestleMania 41. Cody dodged an interview after the match and hasn’t been seen since on Raw or SmackDown. At first I was a bit hard on Cody for disappearing like a coward after such a devastating loss, If I was in Rhodes’ shoes, I’d also probably try to stay away as long as possible to avoid getting involved in that mess. For whatever it’s worth, WWE’s web site once again lists Cody as one of the “Featured Superstars” for SmackDown tonight. That detail wasn’t worth a damn last week when Cody remained absent, but tonight’s show is in Georgia, which is essentially Cody Rhodes country.

There’s also a triple threat Money in the Bank qualifying match on the men’s side with LA Knight vs. Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Aleister Black. Shinsuke looks like the fall guy here since he’s rarely ever on TV. Fraxiom has started their WWE main roster run hot with an impressive 4-0 record, including last week’s win over DIY. Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford will presumably be healthy this time, unlike two weeks ago when the upstart team beat them in a weakened state. Drew McIntyre and Damian Priest are ready to end each other for good inside a Steel Cage tomorrow at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
