Raw airs tonight (May 5) with a live show from CHI Health Center in Omaha, Nebraska. This is the final episode of Raw during the three week build towards Backlash, which takes place on Saturday (May 10) in St. Louis.

Seth Rollins has fully embraced being a heartless bastard since joining up with Paul Heyman at WrestleMania 41. This was evident when he essentially ordered Sami Zayn’s execution at the hands of Bron Breakker to close out last week’s episode of Raw. It’s clear that The Paul Heyman Guys are supposed to be asshole heels, but you wouldn’t know it based on the loud cheers they received on last week’s show. With that in mind, GM Adam Pearce posted a video on social media over the weekend where he said the following about tonight’s Raw. Rollins, Breakker, and Heyman have already taken out CM Punk, Roman Reigns, and Sami Zayn, so perhaps now it’s time to send a direct message to the fans that is designed to turn many of those cheers into boos. This is a challenge that Heyman in particular is uniquely qualified to deal with, so it will be interesting to see how he plans to do it.

JD McDonagh will also return on the WWE Raw match card after his three-month layoff following a ‘near death’ injury. He faces Penta who has become enemy numero uno of The Judgment Day in McDonagh’s absence. Liv Morgan will take some time off WWE to film an upcoming movie role. It was hinted that we might find out more about the flick during WWE Raw. Dominik Mysterio was also hoping to take it easy now he’s WWE Intercontinental Champion. Last week’s guest GM Nick Aldis teased to load Dom’s plate high with challengers. AJ Styles appears to be the next opponent for Dom. We can expect that match to happen. Talking of movies, The Rock’s The Smashing Machine trailer dropped this week. Netflix might treat Dwayne to an airing of his UFC biopic. Finally, Jey Uso seems to be heading for his first World Heavyweight Championship defence against Logan Paul. The latest twist in this tale will happen on WWE Raw.

Women’s World Champion IYO SKY vs. Roxanne Perez is booked on Raw, in what I believe is a non-title match. Roxanne’s match last week with Rhea Ripley had its finish ruined by interference from Giulia. Rusev is scheduled for his first WWE match in over five years when he goes one-on-one with Otis tonight. The main question here isn’t who will win. Penta vs. JD McDonagh is advertised for tonight, after a couple weeks in a row of these two guys interfering in the other’s match. Finally, Becky Lynch plans to call out Women’s Intercontinental Champion Lyra Valkyria tonight, ahead of their title match at Backlash.
