Monday night marks the end of an era as Adam Pearce has announced much like last week in Boston, Cena will be kicking off tonight’s show in Madison Square Garden. And Cena himself posted that this won’t just be the new Intercontinental Champion cutting a promo, he’ll be in action, tweeting his favorite Raw match is his next one, and in his case, his last one. Cena’s opponent remains a mystery though there is no doubt whoever it is will combine with Cena to give the man one final great Raw match. There is perhaps no more successful champion in all of wrestling than Father Time, who remains undefeated. In just a few short weeks, he’ll claim another challenger as John Cena prepares to wrestle his final match of his sterling, Hall of Fame, WWE career. As the inexorable passage of time moves forth however, Cena isn’t done yet and he’s promised that tonight, when he takes his final bow on Monday Night Raw at MSG, will be can’t miss.

Also slated for Raw at MSG is the continuation of the tournament to crown Cena’s final opponent for Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13. Sheamus, Jey Uso, Rusev, and LA Knight have all advanced to the second round with two more first round matchups set for tonight’s show. NXT’s Je’Von Evans will make his Raw debut when he takes on the returning Gunther, who is set to wrestle his first match since losing the world title to CM Punk in August at SummerSlam. SmackDown’s Solo Sikoa will also be in action, though his opponent remains a mystery, and according to Pearce none of the fan theories (Joe Hendry, Chris Jericho, Edge/Adam Copeland, Jeff Hardy, Oba Femi, etc) around said opponent, have been correct. Whether Pearce is working or not, it will be interesting to see who will step through the curtain when the time comes.

Also in action on Raw in MSG is Becky Lynch, who will defend her Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Maxxine Dupri, who stole a non-title win from Lynch a few weeks ago. Since then, Lynch has been incensed, attacking Dupri backstage and making life difficult for her challenger. Will Lynch look to show their last meeting was a fluke by just dominating Dupri, or will Dupri continue to prove her training is working enough for her to shock Lynch in the one of the world’s most famous arenas. Finally, Nikki Bella will have her moment to defend her actions from last week, where she orchestrated an unprovoked attack on her former friend Stephanie Vaquer, likely setting up a clash between these two in the future. Bella is a WWE Hall of Famer and Vaquer is one of its brightest stars. This could be a great torch passing moment when the time comes.
