This week’s episode of WWE NXT continues the road to The Great American Bash. This episode was pre-recorded on Tuesday, June 24. Tyson DuPont and Tyriek Igwe tried to help Wes, but Mike Santana ran out to stop them. Joe pinned Wes shortly after. Some fans online noticed Joe Hendry’s reaction during the post-match segment with Trick Williams on 6/24 wasn’t as loud as expected. However, Joe got a much louder reaction for his entrance in this match.
Joe Hendry returns to NXT with momentum, and he is ready to take on Wes Lee in a singles match. Hendry had quite an explosive return and targeted Trick Williams, but Lee got himself involved, and this is Hendry’s chance to showcase himself as an anchor for NXT and TNA. Lee will have the rest of High Ryze and maybe even Williams’ assistance. Quite a task ahead for Hendry, but the former TNA World Champion is up for it. This will be quite the match, and it could intrigue both NXT and TNA audiences.
Jasper Troy and Yoshiki Inamura are set to meet in a number one contender match this week. The winner will get to challenge Oba Femi at The Great American Bash. These are two heavyweights, and this will be quite the showdown. Expect Femi to be watching this match closely and, with the stakes as high as they are, this could become quite volatile.
