After Raw and Smackdown almost completely pillaged the NXT rosters after WrestleMania 42, a huge void was left at the top of the card in both the men’s and women’s divisions on Tuesday nights. An influx of new stars from Evolve, LFG, and the indie scene has breathed some new life into the product and given all the remaining stars an opportunity to move up and step into more prominent roles. One of the members of NXT’s old guard that has stepped up recently is Izzi Dame of The Culling. After a brief North American Title reign earlier this year, Izzi recently set her sights on the NXT women’s division’s top prize, currently held by Lola Vice. Dame has gotten the drop on Lola several times over the past few weeks and a match between the two of them for the NXT Women’s Championship was finally signed for this week’s show. While momentum seemed to be in Izzi’s favor heading into her title opportunity, Lola was finally able to swing it last week by hitting a huge backfist on Dame during an in-ring confrontation between four of the women’s division’s top stars.

The confrontation in the video above also served to sign another marquee match in the women’s division this week. After weeks of Kelani Jordan taunting the WrenQCC and eventually beating both Wren and Kendal in separate singles matches, Wren attacking the Standout with crutches last week set up a rematch between the two for this week. Elsewhere in the women’s division, Jaida Parker has been struggling lately. After a string of recent losses, Nattie made an appearance on NXT to let Miss Parker know that she’s lost her edge. Jaida tried to either talk or throw down with the third generation star two weeks ago before security stepped in to keep the two apart. Then, last week, as several women watched clips of Nattie’s appearance on Busted Open Radio, Parker just happened to walk in and take offense. This could be a great decision if they all come out victorious next week. It doesn’t seem like they have been on the same page lately, especially not after this decision Spears made. Now, going back to the NXT Women’s Championship match, Lola Vice is looking to show that she is a fighting champion. It seems like it will be a standard match if The Culling isn’t ringside; however, like they always say, they are always one step ahead.
