Next week, NXT will be at one of the most legendary arenas in the world, Madison Square Garden. It will be the final show before Stand and Deliver, so you won’t want to miss it. It is already stacked with action to prepare for the big event.
OTM wants to get their hands on DarkState, but it is never a fair fight. However, next week will be a different story. New York’s own, Mike Santana will fight alongside OTM in Madison Square Garden. OTM and DarkState have been going at each other for months now and now they will meet in the big apple. Mike Santana has previously encountered DarkState, so he is familiar with the way they fight. Santana will also have the home state advantage on his side. The people of New York show up for their own, and I’m sure they will be standing behind Mike Santana and OTM next week on NXT. Lately both Lola Vice and Kendal Grey have been very impressive, but which one will stand tall next week and go to Stand and Deliver? Robert Stone agreed with the fact that both women are deserving of a championship match, but to decide which one will be determined in a match next week. Lola Vice has been in NXT for just around three years, while Kendal Grey made her debut in WWE Level Up about one year ago. This shows how fast Grey has grown as a competitor to be close to challenging for the NXT Women’s Championship. Although the audience watched Vice grow through her time in NXT, and have repeatedly watched her come so close to winning NXT gold.
Vanity Project has been riding their own wave of success since winning the NXT Tag Team Championships off of DarkState last month. GM Robert Stone, who recently had his interim tag removed, arranged a tournament to determine new #1 contenders and that will conclude on tonight’s show. The Birth Right duo of Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo and Uriah Connors defeated former champs Hank & Tank in one semifinal, while Los Americanos defeated The Culling in the other. Two high profile NXT tag teams got themselves kicked out of the aforementioned tournament because they couldn’t stop beating the crap out of each other. DarkState, as Tony D’Angelo waged war against them, found themselves squarely in OTM’s crosshairs. Even with Cutler James reportedly out injured, DarkState still held the advantage in the numbers game until last week.
OTM recruited proud New Yorker and current TNA World Champion, Mike Santana to help even the odds. Santana, fresh off of retaining his title last week at Sacrifice when his match with Steve Maclin was stopped, now has Nic Nemeth and Eddie Edwards to contend with. He’ll take a detour from that chaos on Thursdays to compete in 6-man tag team action tonight on NXT. Will teaming up with a World Champion be enough to help OTM put DarkState behind them? Find out tonight! Joe Hendry’s been the NXT Champion for a little shy of two months, and he will get his first big test as champ at Stand & Deliver on Saturday when he defends in a Fatal 4 Way against Tony D’Angelo and best frenemies, Ricky Saints and Ethan Page. Two weeks ago, Tony D was the leader in the clubhouse after wiping out the other three competitors, including a vicious spear on Joe.
