The UFC is back at the Meta Apex for another Fight Night event. This week’s event is headlined by a Lightweight five-round contest between Renato Moicano vs. Chris Duncan. Duncan has won four consecutive bouts with Moicano, riding a two-fight losing streak.
Duncan and Moicano are still teammates at American Top Team. It is unusual for two teammates in MMA to face each other, but the two remain friendly even before their fight. After winning four straight, Duncan could receive a ranking with a win over Moicano. Moicano is looking to avoid a third consecutive loss, which he has never had in his career. Duncan is a -162 favorite with Moicano being a +136 underdog. This fight has an over/under of 2.5 rounds with the under being -140. In this contest, Duncan is getting 67 percent of the handle and 65 percent of bets. Meanwhile, Moicano is receiving 35 percent of bets and 33 percent of the handle for the Main Event.
The co-main event of this card is Virna Jandiroba vs. Tabatha Ricci in a three-round women’s Strawweight contest. Jandiroba lost her last fight to Mackenzie Dern, but won five consecutive fights before that. Ricci enters this fight off a win by KO/TKO against Amanda Ribas in July 2025. Duncan is a definite gamer, comfortable in a scrap and willing to dig deep in pursuit of the finish. A couple fights ago, Duncan showed new depth to his distance kickboxing game versus Mateusz Rebecki and really impressed with his range management from both stances. In addition, Duncan has demonstrated a very nice front headlock attack, resulting in three submission wins in his last four appearances. Pace feels like the best asset for Duncan here. He may only be four years younger than his team mate, but Duncan has far fewer miles on the tires. He wants to create a war of attrition, the kind of fight that he thrives in. Moicano, conversely, will probably be doing his best to avoid that scrap by sticking long jabs and timing takedowns.
With American Top Team having such a loaded room of lightweights, it’s inevitable that two are going to get paired up from time to time, but this is the second time in three fights that Duncan has faced this challenge, and it’ll be interesting to see if that factors into things at all in this one. While Duncan is in the best form of his career, Moicano enters his 2026 debut on a two-fight slide, not all that far removed from battering Benoît Saint Denis, but still in need of a similar type of effort here to avoid a three-fight skid and losing his place in the rankings to the ascending Scotsman. The 30-year-old Delano looked solid in earning a contract last season on the Contender Series and has the experience to hit the ground running in the UFC. Ruchala landed on the wrong side of the results in his debut in Paris opposite William Gomis, but was 11-1 before that with a collection of good wins over game opponents.
