The stage is set for one of the most anticipated rematches of the year as UFC 320 lands at the iconic T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday, October 4. Headlining the blockbuster card is a clash for the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship, as reigning champion Magomed Ankalaev defends his title against former two-division champion Alex Pereira in a bout that has fight fans buzzing across the globe.
The Dagestani powerhouse remains unbeaten in his last 13 fights, with his only career blemish coming via a last-minute submission to Paul Craig back in 2018. Known for his patience, striking precision, and suffocating pressure, Ankalaev has firmly established himself as the man to beat at 205 pounds. On the other side stands Pereira (12-3), a former UFC middleweight and light heavyweight champion whose explosive power and kickboxing pedigree make him one of the most dangerous finishers in the sport. Despite falling short in their first encounter, ‘Poatan’ has vowed that he was not at full strength that night and is determined to reclaim his crown in Las Vegas. With his legendary left hook and unrivaled big-fight mentality, Pereira remains a live threat against any opponent.
Magomed Ankalaev reportedly pocketed a $500,000 base salary for his first clash with Alex Pereira at UFC 313, according to GiveMeSport. Factoring in bonuses and a share of the pay-per-view profits, his total payout likely exceeded the $1 million mark. With the rematch now set for UFC 320, the Russian contender is expected to land another seven-figure payday. On the other hand, The Playoffs reported that Alex Pereira remains among the top earners in the UFC. The reigning light heavyweight champion is believed to have made around $3 million each for his bouts against Ankalaev and Khalil Rountree Jr. That figure includes a guaranteed $1 million purse, as well as PPV incentives and sponsorship deals. Pereira’s bank account also received a big boost earlier this year when he stepped in on short notice at UFC 303 after Conor McGregor pulled out. He stopped his opponent in the second round to earn a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus, along with an additional $303,000 reward disclosed by his coach for taking the fight.
Outside of the headliners, several top names on the UFC 320 main card are set for major paydays of their own. According to reports, Merab Dvalishvili’s earnings have surged since capturing the bantamweight championship, with his biggest reported payday coming in at $2.39 million at UFC 316. That upward trend suggests the Georgian star could collect another seven-figure purse in Las Vegas. His opponent, Cory Sandhagen, continues to grow his stock as well, typically earning in the mid-to-high six-figure range with added incentives for wins and standout performances.
Marca previously reported that Sandhagen was guaranteed $500,000 for his bout with Deiveson Figueiredo, meaning he’s likely to take home a similar or even higher figure against Dvalishvili. Former champion Jiří Procházka, who earned $1.38 million for his clash with Alex Pereira at UFC 303, also remains among the higher-paid athletes on the card. Khalil Rountree, meanwhile, has been a steady six-figure earner, with his income boosted by several Performance of the Night bonuses, per the Nevada State Athletic Commission. In the featherweight division, Josh Emmett’s total disclosed career earnings stand at around $573,000, placing him in the mid-five-figure range for this event. Youssef Zalal, who previously earned a $50,000 performance bonus, is believed to be fighting on a lower-tier contract as he looks to rebuild momentum.
