Preview:

Dynamite airs tonight (June 11) with a live Summer Blockbuster show from Theater of the Clouds at Moda Center in Portland, Oregon. This is the third episode of Dynamite during the seven week build towards All In, which takes place on July 12.

Will Ospreay says he’ll take a bullet for AEW if that’s what it takes to ensure Jon Moxley loses the AEW world championship to Hangman Page at All In. As part of that effort, Ospreay tried to convince Swerve Strickland and Hangman to temporarily put their differences aside for the greater good of working together to stop the Death Riders. Ospreay’s strategy failed so spectacularly that it led to a backstage brawl between him and Swerve.

Ospreay now thinks that Swerve will potentially try to stop Hangman from winning the world title at All In, and that makes him just as big of a threat to AEW as the Death Riders. Bruv can’t let that happen, so he issued the challenge to Swerve for a singles match tonight at Summer Blockbuster. Strickland vs. Ospreay was the main event match last year at the Forbidden Door PPV, so fans are getting a treat for free with the rematch happening on Dynamite. Ospreay and Strickland are two of AEW’s very top stars and don’t yet have an obvious match lined up for All In, so perhaps there will be a major angle tonight to set that in motion.

Hopefully Ospreay vs. Swerve takes place within the first two hours of Summer Blockbuster, because tonight’s event is once again 4 hours long. The ratings for last week’s Fyter Fest showed that a whole lot of fans won’t make it to final two hours, so AEW will probably load up the first half of Summer Blockbuster with the most important matches and angles. AEW Women’s World Champion “Timeless” Toni Storm took some big bites out of Mercedes Mone’s steak last week after teaming up with Mina Shirakawa to beat Julia Hart and Skye Blue. Anthony Bowens plans to thrive in AEW during Pride Month, and he’ll try to get the ball rolling on that when he steps in the ring against Kyle Fletcher. Summer Blockbuster features a contract signing for the Winner-Take-All match at All In between AEW International Champion Kenny Omega and AEW Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada. Harley Cameron is out injured, but Tay Melo is back in AEW and she’ll be teaming with Anna Jay tonight against the duo of Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford. This is TayJay’s first match together in over two years. Like always, the best way for the babyfaces to score a win over Bayne is to target her weak link tag team partner.
