Dynamite airs tonight (May 7) with a live show from Masonic Temple Theatre in Detroit, Michigan. This is the fifth episode of Dynamite during the seven week build towards Double or Nothing, which takes place on May 25.

AEW Women’s World Champion “Timeless” Toni Storm’s red carpet challenge continues tonight on Dynamite when she competes in a four-way match against Thunder Rosa, Anna Jay, and Penelope Ford. This is a title eliminator match, which means if one of the challengers win, that woman will earn a future title match against Storm. Storm has already defeated Queen Aminata, Miyu Yamashita, and Lady Frost during this ongoing series of open challenges. Toni debuted a new finishing move during last weekend’s win over Frost and proudly proclaimed that she is sweaty, queer, and coming for everybody in AEW. That certainly looks to be true now that she has three more women to get it on with all at the same time tonight.

Will Storm add three more pairs of tits to her collection as AEW tries to find her a worthy challenger at Double or Nothing? Ford and Jay are tied together in a story with Megan Bayne at the moment, so that leaves former world champion Thunder Rosa as perhaps the most likely challenger to win tonight. But there’s a long list of women for Storm to smash on the AEW roster, so this is probably just foreplay for the champ. Tony Khan sure loves title eliminator matches, so AEW Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada also has one tonight against “The Jet” Kevin Knight. It looks like Okada is being set up for a huge match against AEW International Champion Kenny Omega at All In, so it would be a shocker if he loses this bout. Samoa Joe vs. Claudio Castagnoli is booked on tonight’s show. Joe challenges Jon Moxley for the AEW world championship in a steel cage match next week at Beach Break, so Claudio’s job here is to injure Samoa ahead of the title fight, just like he recently took out HOOK and Katsuyori Shibata.

Tonight’s card also features a trios match pitting Swerve Strickland, Mark Briscoe & “Speedball” Mike Bailey against The Young Bucks & Ricochet. Swerve is the only wrestler here who did not compete in last week’s All-Star 8-man tag that the heels went on to win. The final matches of the men and women’s Owen Hart tournaments are set for Double or Nothing. There are still a few weeks to go until that event, so we’ll hear from three of the four finalists tonight with interviews from Will Ospreay, Hangman Page, and Jamie Hayter.  Bobby Lashley’s thumb is over with fans, which means MJF will have to hurt somebody if he wants to impress Bob and join The Hurt Syndicate.
