Dynamite airs tonight (May 21) with a live show from Rio Rancho Events Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This is the final episode of Dynamite during the seven week build towards Double or Nothing, which takes place on Sunday (May 25)

When President Tony Khan doesn’t have a HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT up his sleeve, he sometimes likes to hype up an AEW show by throwing a bunch of wrestlers in one match and slapping the “All Star” label on it. That’s what’s happening tonight on Dynamite when the Young Bucks team up with AEW World Champion Jon Moxley in an “All Star Trios Match” against Powerhouse Hobbs, Swerve Strickland, and Samoa Joe. These guys are all in the mix for the Anarchy in the Arena match at Double or Nothing, so this match is something of an appetizer before the main dish is served on Sunday.

Strickland and Moxley are leading their respective teams at Anarchy in the Arena, but the remaining team members all need to be announced tonight. The rest of tonight’s all stars will likely be added to the PPV match, but that still potentially leaves room for wrestlers like Gabe Kidd, Claudio Castagnoli, Marina Shafir, Willow Nightingale, Kenny Omega, and Katsuyori Shibata. Wheeler Yuta probably needs each team to run seven people deep if he wants in. I expect that we’ll see all of the wrestlers listed above show up tonight to punch each other in the face during or after the All Star Trios match.

Mina Shirakawa is tuning up for Double or Nothing by taking on Julia Hart in a singles match tonight. AEW Women’s World Champion “Timeless” Toni Storm will be on commentary for this one to get a closer look at her PPV challenger. MJF finally got the thumbs up from Bobby Lashley last week, so the payoff happens tonight when he signs a contract to officially join The Hurt Syndicate. That’s assuming MJF’s crummy lawyer didn’t find anything questionable in the contract, of course. It’s also assuming this whole thing isn’t just a setup for one side to turn on the other in a last second swerve. The Hurt Syndicate are defending the AEW world tag team titles against Dustin Rhodes and Sammy Guevara at Double or Nothing, so maybe those guys will interrupt the contract signing before MJF can put pen to paper Nigel McGuinness is stepping back in the ring at Double or Nothing in a tag team match with Daniel Garcia against FTR. Mark Briscoe wants to make Ricochet pay for sending Zach Gowen to the hospital, so they’re having a Stretcher Match at Double or Nothing. t looks like “Speedball” Mike Bailey might have to first deal with RUSH before he gets a shot at AEW Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada.
